Went for vaccination to Polyclinic. Not only did the staff refuse to sanitize hands, but a man on duty raised his voice screaming he was a doctor and ID cannot be prevented by sanitizing hands & therefore had no role to play. Update on the Polyclinic complaint: District Health Officer Islamabad took notice of the incident. He has ensured the staff has been warned to follow infection control protocols. Hope there is a change of behaviour!

Please stop using the terms “difficult patient/parent”. They are not GIVING you a hard time, they are HAVING a hard time. Difficult situation 4 sure, but it’s (usually) not about you. Try substituting “difficult family member” w “passionate advocate”. Reframing helps.

Today we had a patient come in for a surgery and he was in misery and pain. I went to the preop bay to give him pain killers. I asked the man standing with him for consent. The attendant told me he isn't related to this patient. In fact he's never met the man before in his life.
