"I'm heartbroken", Thames Water 💧's CEO tells The Times and The Sunday Times but I'm still going to take my £3.24 million salary and bonus from last year she tells Sean Farrington at BBC Radio 4 Today while refusing to say that she would not take her bonus this year. Can't be that heartbroken then.

Family lawyers + domestic abuse experts: this is a callout on behalf of a journalism student, Carla Conti, who's contacted me re a fascinating investigation she's working on – vexatious ligitation in the family court as a form of economic abuse. Can you help?

Every child with SEND has the right to a fantastic education that supports their aspirations - and the system must match their ambition. This plan is a positive step towards making that happen, particularly in its focus on early help for families & increased school places.

The Department for Education has today published its SEND and Alternative Provision Improvement Plan. We will be going through this in detail, but it is worth noting that there are NO plans for changes to the Children and Families Act which will continue to govern policy.

This by Haroon Siddique tells one of those usually unnoticed, but really important stories, about how abuse victims and their children are failed by the state. Very courageous of this woman to challenge Legal Aid Agency on this.

Later today, I will be giving evidence to the Education Committee as part of their enquiry into persistent absence & the support available to disadvantaged children. You can read more about my work on school & attendance here: childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/school/

What's the phrase some psychologist invented for that thing where you name an affliction (eg gender dysphoria) and suddenly loads of people start understanding their feelings that way &getting diagnosed with it? I've seen it mentioned several times recently but can't remember it

The final part of my series for Sex Matters is published today. This part looks at practical suggestions for parents and carers of gender-distressed teenagers who want to follow a supportive waiting model. It’s based on expert interviews… sex-matters.org/posts/publicat… [1/13]

DfE calling on striking teachers to do even more unpaid overtime… Teachers already offer before & after school and holiday revision sessions going above and beyond for their students. Time for you to do the same #PayUp

Last month, I published new research which showed an increasing postcode lottery of mental health support for children & increased waiting times. I spoke to The Guardian about my concerns, including what support needs to be in place for children: childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/blog/childrens…

There have been just too many such successful appeals. I have lost all faith in the family justice system to protect victims of domestic abuse. bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/… For no stated reason, the judge who made these terrible decisions on contact is not named in the appeal ruling.

Louise Tickle (@louisetickle) 's Twitter Profile Photo

"...The issue of domestic abuse in this case is one of seriousness and it simply did not receive consideration from the judge. Even without what had happened recently, this appeal would have to be allowed."
