The Phoenix in Lewes looks like a thoughtful development of a former industrial area, creating a dense new neighbourhood and extension of the town with an interesting roofline whilst repurposing of some of the existing heritage structures phoenixlewes.com

Love this competition to find new ideas for the M&S building on Oxford Street. This site need thoughtful and creative solutions rather than thoughtless and uninspired demolition Architects’ Journal architectsjournal.co.uk/news/aj-save-l…

While a shame little (if any) historic interior elements will be reused, I find it fascinating the whole facade of the former Fenwick Bond Street store is being lifted by a whole floor to create a strong and more open retail spaces on the ground. architectsjournal.co.uk/news/foster-pa…

We have a once-only opportunity to reconnect #HackneyMarshes and #WalthamstowMarshes in the lower #LeaValley. If this site (Essex no.1 filter beds) is built on, the opportunity to create a new wildlife corridor and walking routes across Lee Valley Park will be lost FOREVER!

Sterling Heights, MI, joins a list of other Detroit suburbs that will convert dying malls into town centers. Lakeside Mall will be redeveloped into 2,800 new housing units and a town center. Converting dead malls is an easy way to create town centers in the suburbs.

Excellent to see these ideas for repurposing the M&S flagship on Oxford Street. Our cities need more ideas like this #retrofirst architectsjournal.co.uk/news/m-and-s-o…

In an age of division, how we should build in our towns and cities is actually something we agree about. Our alternative vision with Francis Terry for Oxford Street features in The Times and The Sunday Times today as well as our poll with Deltapoll - 79% of the public prefer our approach....

There's something seriously wrong with this countries infrastructure projects if this is what we're ending up with. Proposed vs Reality for Oxford's new train station.

Change in Altrincham over the last decade. I particularly liked the way that the usual ugly road markings have been replaced with inlaid masonry ones.

Redesigning city streets to support human behavior isn't rocket science. But it does take a willingness to challenge the status quo assumptions about public space. 📹 Transport Infrastructure Ireland

Fantastic preserved 1920s cinema interior housed inside a Mcdonalds in Grimsby town centre, Hopefully one day it could be properly restored and opened up again as a cultural space grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/news/gallery/t…

I love that this pub has survived as part of the larger development in Farringdon. The street is so much richer for it. Nice photos on instagram from @LundonLens

Which do you prefer? It's so exciting to see civic architecture daring to be civic again. Evolving Stocksbridge's old library into a new one alongside office and community space....
