Zoe Gross from Autistic Self Advocacy Network is teaching Maryland officials how to use plain language in writing. Plain language helps our resources be more inclusive and accessible.

The Council worked with the MD_MVA to put the driver's license test and other materials in plain language. The test is now more inclusive and helps Marylanders with developmental disabilities live the lives they want. wapo.st/3ZDqD1i

The anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act isn’t just about acknowledging a piece of legislation – It’s about celebrating a legacy. Today, I will sign an Executive Order creating a new Maryland Plain Language Initiative.

This order is based on a simple idea: It shouldn’t be difficult for Marylanders to access the programs and services they need. This Executive Order will help ensure that every piece of writing that comes out of our Administration is simple, accessible, and easy to read.
