Very sad that the first The National Lottery Community Fund Fulfilling Lives project is coming to an end next month, but really looking forward to speaking at their celebration event today in Liverpool, and hearing people's reflections Waves of Hope
Fortune smiling on me this morning. Train is six minutes late and I was only two! On way to Waves of Hope to help celebrate their awesome work. Phew, that was some congested commute to Crewe Station!
Lovely being part of the Lpool city awakening this am. We (some of us) may have different accents Fulfilling Lives Lambeth, Southwark & Lewisham, unfortunate similarities shared across the Nth & Sth are the noโs of people bedded down in the cold. Looking forward to learning Waves of Hope to cont. to influence change
Colleen, Waves of Hope Chair talking about the importance of recognising we're here for people, to learn and adapt and vitally, to co-produce. And how Council colleagues have learnt about good practice for better outcomes.
David from Whitechapel - 60% of people successfully left Waves of Hope (based on the person's own criteria) with 79% reduced their rough sleeping and 63% reduction in drug & alcohol use. Systemically, it's seen developments in accommodation, workforce, PIE & partnerships.
Really powerful stories being shared by Waves of Hope at waves of hope closing ceremony- another example of the City centre #ICT MDT making a difference by working together Mersey Care NHS FT ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ Katy Wafer Pat McGuinness hannah
Lived experience team up now from Waves of Hope... Lessons - have humanity, clear you own agenda, ask for help, create choice, be prepared to be unpopular, use plain english, listen, involve, be prepared for frustration. Really fabulous and honest reflections for us to learn.
Genuinely heartbreaking that the Waves of Hope and amazing ThevoiceofNorris lived experience group gave so many 'firsts' including an adult having their very first birthday cake. I'll just leave that there.
Really interesting reflection from Tom ThevoiceofNorris Waves of Hope that whilst we really want lived experience in every single room/meeting... If that's with warring professionals, blaming each other for failure rather than working together, it can be a trigger.
Thanks Waves of Hope. Really informative morning. Great takeaway materials too. Apologies in advance for the shameless copying I'm about to do! ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
