60 and 61. both doing exceptional work still and settling into the experimentation that is the reward of having earned elder-statesman status. it's a loss of all else that they had to give.

Vivid example of librarians left filling in gaps: Barre Library "offers place to put used needles being held together w/ book tape. Fire department used to empty them, [but now] librarians have to dispose the needles themselves" @edrabinski Urban Librarians Unite vermontpublic.org/local-news/202…

Have you ever wondered why people seemingly dressed better in the past? There are many reasons, such as the wide availability of skilled tailors. But an overlooked one has to do with how fabrics have changed over time. 🧵

But what you don’t know is that that Coke can is not just blue, it’s not turquoise. It’s not lapis. It’s actually cerulean. And you’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Pepsi introduced a product called Pepsi Blue. 1/3

In the new year, I’m honestly just aiming to see how good it can get. I wanna know the real potential of my life. I want to feel it on my skin. I want to leave no drops of this life unconsumed. I wanna know the answer to the question: What if it all goes well?

R.I.P. to the wonderful Glynis Johns. Throughout her eight-decade career, she played suffragette Mrs. Banks in MARY POPPINS (1964) and was the leading lady in one of my all-time favorite comedies, THE COURT JESTER (1955). Her unique breathy voice is just a pleasure to listen to.
