Respecting culture is one of my highest responsibilities when delivering care. Urban, rural, native, transient...let alone social determinants and demographics...there are so many aspects of someone’s life that impact how they respond to treatment. One size does not fit all.

Sadly these resources continue to be needed. I’m praying for peace and advocating for safety.

Time out isn’t just punishment for children (in fact it isn’t really designed as a punishment at all). It’s a welcomed break from overwhelm & overstimulation. I put myself in time out often. I like time out...& people tend to like me better after I’ve been in time out for a bit.

Some gamified programs are so cheesy. And some great games are not clinically appropriate. Bringing together behavioral economics, game theory, game design, player-centered design, and clinical efficacy is no easy task but it sure is worth it!
