Tonight at our VCS Board meeting, we recognized DeLand High Bulldogs + showcased their CTE academies and programs. CTE programs prepare secondary students with technical, academic and employability skills for success in the workplace and in further education.

A1: In class I often see student who want to find the answer and move on. They don’t stop and marinate in the learning process. Knowing is a process…but often kids just want the product. We have to help them switch their mindset. #dhsbookchat

A2: For our senior economic students I would like to see their budget project be transitioned into a tech program. I relate this to something like turbo tax. A program with guiding questions that helps them progress through…. #dhsbookchat

A3: google my maps for US History. The students could track where we are in the US and where other countries are as we enter wars… Sound trap would be neat for government students to create a podcast about events related to any unit. #dhsbookchat
