Big news! The LGBT Purge niche will open in the CMHR Canadian Journeys Gallery this spring! The Museum’s major exhibition will open in the winter of 2025. We’re delighted to work with Canadian Museum for Human Rights to share the story of the Purge with the public in new ways.

The Purge was an egregious period in Canadian history and part of wider patterns of 2SLGBTQI+ discrimination. In their 2018 lawsuit win, survivors agreed the Monument would memorialize this wider discrimination, as well as the Purge. We’re so thankful for their generous gift.

We were on a snowy site last week with our colleagues from the National Capital Commission and Canadian Heritage, planning site signage for Thunderhead: the 2SLGBTQI+ National Monument. Years in the making, we’re delighted to be breaking ground on this historic project this spring!
