Calling my insurance company

As a cis, white, able bodied woman in medicine I am sure my threshold for what constitutes “unprofessional” behaviour is different for me than it is for many of my black, indigenous, queer etc colleagues. Hopefully the discussion around #medbikini widens around this.

What I would like to see is the media coverage and celebration of our housekeeping staff getting vaccinated. They keep us, and the patients without covid, safe every day. They put themselves at risk every shift and are doing a hell of a job.

Probably the best thread I’ve seen about vaccine priority models. Grateful to be receiving one as an ER resident, but understanding that me vaccinate = someone else equally/more deserving not.

Where to start, like many folks have already mentioned: - read the TRC report and 94 calls to action (cbc.ca/news/politics/…) - donate to FNCARES, Indian Residential School Survivors Society and other orgs - give to Indigenous mutual aid funds and grassroot orgs - show up when called to action!
