Opened a box that was probably packed in 1979. Thought it only had old magazines, but found some of my old books, including my boxed set of LOTR paperbacks. There was only one book that I had actually missed.

Today is World Meningitis Day. 50-year-old man with no history. It started as otomastoiditis and subsequently had neurological deterioration and finally died. The autopsy reveals abundant purulent exudate on the brain.
