Of course there are players/families who survive it! They say it was the best thing they did It doesn’t make it right! AAU youth BBALL is badly broken- it’s taken away the foundation of youth development And Replaced it with an angry, aggressive, adult-driven business model.

HS sports used to be High School Sports! We’ve turned it into a college prep program. We’ve excluded late bloomers, multi sport athletes, kids truly wanting a HS sports experience. We’ve force travel sports down their throats. HS sports isn’t college prep- it’s HS Sports!

It’s sad for me to see development, the process, stages, failures, and true youthful experiences take such a back seat to today’s artificial status driven youth sports culture. Tell me where the rewind button is- there was a much better time to be a kid involved in sports 😩

Teaching the Lateral Run using the cone stack strategy which is a rehearsed pattern. In the Speed Insiders, I teach you how actual biomechanics and laws of movement will govern how the Lateral Run occurs. SpeedInsiders.com

Zone-1 Bar Step-Up. Using Velocity Tracker OVR Performance Intent to accelerate as fast as possible. Goal is to reduce contribution from support leg as much as possible and accelerate using top leg.

The lateral run is a foundational movement for real-world speed—used to escape or attack space in sport. Don’t coach a crossover. Teach the push–open–push pattern. It’s how athletes actually move. Break it down inside → SpeedInsiders.com

Allowing athletes to discover 1st-step quickness laterally. There was little instruction given- simply gain quickness and distance while maintaining a lateral orientation. The low box creates front side leverage to push through (basically brings the ground up to the athlete)

We can agree it’s important we teach our children “Think Rationally” when making decisions. If parents stepped back, looked at current model of travel sports, used Rational Thinking, they’d be shocked at what a poor decision it would be to join it. Kids learn from our decisions
