I discovered key infant behaviours that indicate drastically increased risk for mental health difficulties in childhood. If funded, I could have developed an intervention to help prevent these difficulties. Save our research #AdvanceAustraliaCare #auspol The Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR) @GregHuntMP

I've heard tell of academics telling other academics who are struggling with precarity and unemployment to "keep going" and "your time will come" and I cannot believe folks are saying this now, in February 2021, and yet here we are. No. It's time to work toward a viable career.

Our new paper out today. We found children exposed to intimate partner violence from infancy were twice as likely to have a psychiatric diagnosis, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and low language skills at age 10. Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) @safer_families

This is good advice. V sad if it becomes necessary, and not always easy to follow, but better to escape than to damage your mental/physical health by remaining in a harmful situation that you can't change.
