langsidehallstrust Past Glasgow No photos but it has been a cornerstone of the Southside recovery community ❤️🙏🏻
langsidehallstrust So many memories. Not a lot of pics. Rehearsals in one of the wee rooms away up the top. Southside Beer Festival. Some big election votes. Community Council, Friedns of QP and activist group meetings. Community consultations. Loads of stuff.
The proposals developed by Hoskins Architects & @JuraConsultants to refurbish the Halls are available to view on our website and we want to hear your feedback - head to there to complete our Community Engagement Questionnaire.
Here’s a peek at the sketches Hoskins Architects have created as part of the Feasibility Study to refurbish Langside Halls. We would love to hear what you think so head to our website (link in bio) to view the full presentation and complete our community questionnaire.
Did you know that the capacity of the main hall is 480 meaning that our consortium partner The Glad Cafe could host live music events here? If this interests you, please tell us about it in our community engagement questionnaire located on our website, link in bio.
The Halls are undergoing some essential maintenance to the roof. We’d like to thank Glasgow City Council for arranging and funding these repairs as holes in the roof have lead to some water damage. Just a wee reminder that Glasgow City Council own the building and Glasgow Life operate it.
A big thank you to Barry Jenkins and Sapien82 for giving The Bothy a facelift a few weeks ago as part of the Shawlands Art Trail coordinated by Bid Manager Lisa McLaughlin and Gas Mac from SWG3's Yardworks project.
Today, my colleague @taylorleatea and I will be giving a CPD session about how Glasgow City Heritage Trust try to get buildings in #Glasgow off the Buildings at Risk Register such as the ‘B’ listed former Mission Hall at 41/43 Nithsdale Drive - once burnt out now to be residential🧐🥰!
The Langside Halls Trust would like to thank everyone who completed our recent Community Engagement Questionnaire which has been collated by @JuraConsultants and has informed the Feasibility Study completed by Hoskins Architects. More details in the coming weeks!
We are delighted to announce that we are teaming up with Hoskins Architects to host an online guided tour for @glasgowdoorsopendays in September... this is the second stop on the tour!
The Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival programme is now live on the Doors Open Day website and you can see the trail we have been busy creating together with Hoskins Architects here: glasgowdoorsopendays.org.uk/digital-trails/
Stop 5 on our upcoming digital trail that we have been designing together with Hoskins Architects and which will be launched as part of @glasgowdoorsopendaysfestival is the former British Linen Company Bank building, designed in 1897 by architect James Salmon Jr, and built in 1900.
We have an exciting opportunity - we are looking to expand our Board of Trustees with the addition of a youth trustee! If you are aged between 18-25 this could be for you. Please send you CV to: [email protected]. Closing date 30-09-21
This year's @glasgowdoorsopendays starts tomorrow and runs until next Sunday 19th September. Our digital trail which Hoskins Architects have developed with a little help from the Trust goes live as part of the festival tomorrow! Head to glasgowdoorsopendays.org.uk/digital-trails
