Absolute shameless this rail fat cat awards himself 800k in bonuses despite those who drive the trains haven't had a pay rise for 5 years - rewarded for a shoddy service and driving staff morale into the dark ages.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/r…

The transport industry will view the appointment of Network Rail Chairman Lord Peter Hendy as Transport Minister as a very wise move. I think that’s the first time in my working life that a proper transport professional with decades of experience has been made Minister of State.

We are profoundly disappointed by Royal Mail's decision to stop using rail freight. Politicians and policymakers must get round the table to look at how we can level the playing field between rail freight and road haulage. Freight belongs on rail! #railfreight

Just to be clear when Train Operators say they have cancelled services “due to a lack train crew”, what they actually mean is “due to our failure to recruit the correct level of staff required to meet our service delivery obligations” bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Whilst it’s legitimate to debate the terms of the deal, the demonisation of train drivers and those onboard and at stations, who carry out a difficult and skilled job for the safety of passengers, is completely unfair. These people work hard and should be shown more respect

Yesterday the House of Commons voted through the rail public ownership bill, led by Transport Secretary Louise Haigh. An important step in the journey towards a railway that runs in the interest of people and communities across the country. Next stop, House of Lords 🚄

There are 19 breastfeeding support groups across Cornwall so if you have questions about feeding and caring for your baby or toddler why not pop in, parents are welcome at every age and stage including antenatally.

Thanks to Rachel Hopkins MP for raising the importance of investment in rail infrastructure at this week's Prime Minister's Questions. It's vital to invest in infrastructure to connect up communities, make the railway accessible and grow rail freight. #InvestInRail #PMQs
