True, yet for many, we know who the unsafe men are (fathers, brothers, partners), the men creating a war zone in our homes, bodies & minds. No, it's 'not all men' but it is the majority, if not all, women who live with the burden of responsibility to stay safe

We need to do more/better at ensuring there is access to specialised therapists/counsellors who can safely support people using violence/abusive behaviours, similarly accessible supports for victims trying to navigate these dynamics #therapy #Abuser #DFSV

Trauma survivors are very often overwhelmingly empathic-- & that empathy very often includes our abusers. Of course it does. But it's a game changer when our empathy-- which is one of our best qualities-- no longer interferes w/ setting boundaries & holding others accountable.

Decision paralysis is a common trauma symptom that can make survivors feel stupid & "weak"-- but you need to know you're absolutely not the first, last, or only survivor to struggle w/ "simple" choices. There's neuropsychology behind it. It's not about intelligence or "will."
