BREAKING: Sarah Jama, along with the the NDP’s Kristyn Wong-Tam & Joel Harden have been kicked out of the chambers for wearing a keffiyeh.

NDP MPPs Kristyn Wong-Tam 🇨🇦 and Joel Harden wore keffiyehs in the legislature today and rose to leave as the Speaker began to warn Harden. MPP Jama wore as well, and was named.

The NDP is planning to use its opposition day next week on a keffiyeh motion.

Finally, after intense advocacy from community members, Marit Stiles, and the Ontario NDP, the keffiyeh ban has been lifted in the legislative building but not the chamber. The ban should be removed in the chamber too. #ONpoli twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…
