This!! I'm so tired of pouring dollars and resources into reactive extras, instead of the proactive core! If we were serious about our investments (money, time, resources, and quality instruction) in the regular classroom, a much smaller number of kids would need the extras.

Hey Safeway I’m giving you a last chance to respond before we dig in: Your entire system of “discounts” and “specials” requires apps, taking photos, scanning and so many other things that people like my blind mother can’t possibly participate in. By your own advertisements, 1/

The marriage penalty exists, in part, because when the laws around SSI benefits were written people assumed we wouldn't get married, that we weren't worthy of love. They were wrong and it's time for the law to reflect reality.

The progression from “we need to wear masks” ➡️ “only vulnerable people need to wear masks” ➡️ “vulnerable people can isolate” ➡️ “vulnerable people shouldn’t be in public as they’re vulnerable so anyone who wears a mask is a criminal” should be alarming to anyone against fascism

We’re supposed to be at home because we’re too disabled to do anything If we dared go outside to protest or *gasp* work, then maybe we’re exaggerating & faking our disabilities/high risk status opening us up for scrutiny & surveillance Ableism & fascism go hand in hand

>become poor >Lose housing >Get arrested because you are a human that needs sleep >Go to jail >Work as a slave because that's legal in the US in prisons >If you manage to get out you are arrested again because you have nowhere to go and will fall asleep eventually Deeply evil

To love your disabled body is a revolutionary act. We represent everything that the system hates. Rest, vulnerability, community, and advocacy. To be disabled is to automatically be radical.

Why can’t democrats get the timing right?? The time to replace Biden was a year ago. Now is the time to unite in the bed we made for ourselves. Kinda like in 2016, when we couldn’t accept the primaries were over, and kept in-fighting through the general election. Timing, people!

I see your "anti- political violence," and raise you "anti-violence." I'm against all the violence. I disapprove of gun violence, violent wars, violent parenting, violent speech, violent policies, violent sports, violent video games.... Is "violence is bad" a hot take??

Is there data about suicidality of trans kids which compares kids with supportive parents to those with unsupportive parents? I’m guessing that if your kid doesn’t feel safe telling you about their gender identity, then you’re probably their biggest risk factor.

Yes!! I know so many people who spend big dollars traveling to beautiful places, but scorn “wasting” money on building beautiful things here at home.

I've spent an awful lot of time in my social studies classroom, wondering why we don't send social studies teachers to the White House.... So excited to fill out my ballot this year!!

U.S. Olympians are using their trip to the Olympics to get the basic preventative healthcare they can’t afford to get in the U.S. We should be embarrassed that we’re the only industrialized country without universal healthcare — all because lobbyists pay off our politicians.

To sum up my rant lol 😂 Disabled people spend much of their time altering themselves or their appearance for the comfort of ableds. To not be stared at or mistreated. It’s futile. We will always be judged no matter what we do until folks start seeing us…as equals.
