The 9th century Saxon font from St. Mary’s Priory Church at Deerhurst in Gloucestershire. Remarkably, the font was discarded in 1653 and rediscovered on a local farm in 1843 where it was being used as a drinking trough for livestock. 📸 My own. #FontsOnFriday #AngloSaxon

One of the prehistoric galleries at Grime’s Graves - a Neolithic flint mine, near Thetford in Norfolk. Under the care of English Heritage, visitors can descend nine metres into one of the prehistoric mine shafts! 📸 My own. #FlintFriday #GrimesGraves #Prehistory #Norfolk

A small #Roman figurine of a dog, shown with its right front paw raised and its head tilted upwards, towards an unknown figure. It was found at Kirkby Thore (England) - fitting, as dogs were very popular in #RomanBritain 🐕🐶#Archaeology #RomanArchaeology #FindsFriday
