Last week Miss Mitchell took part in a problem solving task. We used the strategy of ‘drawing a picture’ to help us find the solution. We had to make sure the sides of each shape added up to 12 going across and down the way. Great parter work! 😊

Last week @KPS_Primary3J were using their estimating and measuring skills to find the length of their classroom and dining hall in metres. 📏 They estimated what they thought the length might be. Then they checked the actual length using metre sticks. Super team work! 👍

Look at some of our amazing work from P6 Art Club. 🖼️ Over three weeks we have used different materials and skills to create our pictures. The funniest and messiest part was making a marble effect background using shaving foam and paint. 🖌️Great work everyone! 👏

Last week @KPS_Primary3J were learning to measure different items using kitchen scales. We were asked to measure different amounts in grams. We had to read the scale carefully to help us do this. 😊

Last week Miss Morecroft were revising their numbers to 10 in Spanish. 🇪🇸 They did a super job of counting! We used our knowledge of numbers to practise saying our age in Spanish. Super effort! 😊

Last week @KPS_Primary5L were learning the names for family members in French. 🇫🇷 We started to explore grammatical gender and recognise genders of words. We used Linguascope to help us practise this.

This week Miss Miller & P5M were learning to read the scale on a thermometer to find the temperature. Their classroom was about 20 degrees celsius. We discussed different ways that temperature is used and enjoyed finding out how hot or cold it was in different places. 😊

This week @KPS_Primary1S have been practising to say ‘I live in…’ in Spanish. 🇪🇸 🗣️ We have continued to practise saying our name and age to help us remember and build our confidence. We drew a picture of where we live and practised saying this again in Spanish. Muy bien! 😊

This week Miss Morecroft have been exploring Spanish words for clothes. We sang songs and pointed to different items of clothing we were wearing to help us learn. We then designed an outfit where we were practised our Spanish with some help. 🇪🇸

Last week Miss Morecroft have been learning to say different foods in Spanish. 🇪🇸 🍎 We played a game of bingo where we had a go at saying the Spanish word! 😃

Thank you to @KPS_Primary6C who came to lead games with P4R with Mrs Robertson & Mrs Fleming during PE today. P6 did this as part of their Playground Leader training. P4 enjoyed taking part in the games. 😊

Last week Miss Gourlay and P3G were learning about tessellation. We explored different shapes (regular and irregular) to find out if they could tile or not. We then started making a class tessellation poster using an outline of a person to see if we could fit them together. Well done!

Before the holidays P4F and Mrs Farquhar, KPS_Primary4L and @KPS_Primary4_5M created wind turbine art. They used tin foil to give the effect of a wind turbine and used oil pastels to create a colourful background. Great work! 😊

Last week P4F and Mrs Farquhar completed their mini booklets on solar energy. ☀️ We used the iPad to help us research different facts about solar energy.

This week Miss Mitchell have been revising odd and even numbers. We discussed how to recognise if a number is even or odd and practised counting in twos to help us. We then made odd and even number paper chains. 😊

This week @KPS_Primary1D have been learning to tell the difference between right and left. We made wristbands with a right and left hand on them to help us do this. This is part of our learning about giving and following directions. ✋🤚

Last week @KPS_Primary1D started learning about symmetry. We explored our own reflections using mirrors. We then drew our faces to help us understand what symmetry means.

This week we have been learning about tornadoes for #britishscienceweek2024.🌪️ We investigated how tornadoes are caused and then we made a ‘tornado in a bottle’. P4F and Mrs Farquhar KPS_Primary4L @KPS_Primary4_5M
