P4R have been learning how to use the 24 hour clock by converting time from the 12 hour clock. They were concentrating very hard at the loop card game!

We have been learning about the reading skills skimming and scanning, which we can use with non-fiction text. We thought about skimming being a zoomed out view, where we ‘get the gist’ of a passage. Scanning helps us to zoom in on information as we search for key vocabulary. 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️

We took our Numeracy lesson outside today and used outdoor materials to demonstrate our understanding of the 7x and 9x tables, as well as multiples and factors. Ask us about our tasks! Super determination and focus from P4R today! 🔢🌳🌟🌿🪨

We started our day outside. We continued to develop our ability to communicate and work together as a team, using a variety of passes to score points in the new ‘end zone.’ 🏐
In Spanish, we read and translated Eric Carle’s ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear.’ 🇪🇸🐻

The dreaded land grabbers have arrived with their machinery, to move the Kinnario tribe from their settlement.
We are creating placards to protest against the planned deforestation! ⚠️🚫🌎

Deforestation ❌🌳
We have been considering why deforestation takes place. We read arguments for and against deforestation and sorted them accordingly. Great team work!

We have been creating flash cards to practise Spanish vocabulary for animals - we used them to test a partner at the end of today’s lesson. 🐶🐰
We also worked with partners to summarise or predict. We had to share our task and what we understood from the text to our group. 📚

Super focus during our grammar input this afternoon. We are continuing to develop our ability to use apostrophes to write contractions. We concluded our lesson in the sunshine- a lovely end to the day. ☀️
