this is still Twitter for me as my phone still hasn’t forced me to update the app yet. I continue to live in an alternate reality. X means nothing to me. 😬

Have ppl found valid reasons for students wearing an AirPod in one ear during class, related to access or preferred learning environments? Possibly to provide background noise and limit random distracting sounds…? Or, can I more explicitly ask said students to remove them 😬

Motherhood is buying “fall scent” hand soap for your family to use and then going in the bathroom cabinet every time you use the bathroom to get a pump of old, unseasonable one out bc “fall scent” makes you queasy.

Nooo I accidentally updated all my apps and now I’m here on the updated not-Twitter. I already miss living in my un-updated, alternate app reality.

Again it is finals week and again I can’t not write individual notes on each of my students final projects. Yes, I have a detailed rubric. Yes, I still write feedback that they might not even read. 🙃

I’m behind on reading after completing the PhD and then teaching and creating all new lessons/materials for more students than I’ve ever had. 😴 Any great readings on data or personal privacy when sharing stories on IG/social media? 😬 #teamrhetoric Digital Rhetorical Privacy Collective others?

So I guess it’s actually now that the real imposter syndrome has set in? Now I finished the PhD? Now that I need to finish a draft for a solo-authored article? 🫠

I wish I could Google my own brain: "Hey Brain, what was that one reading you came across over a year ago that would be a great example for your students to read about using story for local health advocacy."

I’m in the “I care so much and why don’t my students match what I’m bringing to the classroom” era and I know it’s unhealthy but I can’t get out of it. (I also know many logical reasons why they don’t so I guess I’m just doing this to myself). 🫠

This group of students who are always late for my 8am class don’t realize they could smooth things over if they just also brought me a coffee from the Starbucks they stop at on their way into the building. 😅🙃☕️

This semester of teaching was rough but I transitioned into summer work by watching (read: binging) all four seasons of Killing Eve and it was EXACTLY what I needed. So good!

Hey friends! What are your favorite dystopian texts, films, and other media to use in the classroom? My class theme is centered on digital activism in dystopic times so we’re engaging with both fiction and non-fiction (not any full books though).

Great start to our tournament season 2nd place finish at the CTW Fall Skeleton 12u division. We went 4-1-1 and lost 12-11 in 9 inning championship game. Girls played with so much heart and grit. Future is bright for this group!!
