This past Wednesday was World Teacher Day! A hard job, but the MOST rewarding! High fives to all of my teacher friends! Northern Lights #WorldTeachersDay2022

Thanksgiving is a time of reflection for all our blessings. I am grateful that I have such a wonderful and loving family even though we are many miles apart. I am also very blessed to have amazing friends who treat me as family and include me in their family celebrations.

Even the rain and cool temps can’t dampen the spirits for the #Rally4Ed. What a turnout of concerned individuals gathered together to stand in solidarity and show support for public education.

It wasn’t the greatest of drives home from Edmonton, but made it safe and sound! Always a rewarding experience gathering with other APPLE Schools Health Champs at the Knowledge Exchange. So many wonderful ideas to promote healthy eating, physical activity, and mental wellness.

A great two days at the Alberta Teachers' Association Collective Bargaining Conference. I heard very useful and helpful information to aid me in my Northern Lights ATA Local #15 President role. Thank you to the organizers and presenters.

Last December the wonderful Grace MacLellan gifted me this Christmas tree. The East Coast themed ornaments made by her and her family. It is a treasured possession and I proudly display it again this year.

😂 Isn’t that the truth?!?! Very quickly I could tell who had their phones in the classroom 😂

Public $ should NOT be going to private & chrtr schools. Yet they get 70% funding from public $ AND can deny any students they feel aren't a good "fit." Don't be fooled, the most recent "increase" to funding doesn't begin to cover the cuts they imposed over the last 3 yrs.

So fitting that I am at a Women In Leadership Summit on my Mom’s birthday. She was a true leader in all aspects of her life. She was my person and continues to inspire me every day as I remember and reflect on her and her life. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mom! Love and miss you!
