Its been suggested to me by an experienced health service professional: Why not now give pharmacists the legal power to handle straightforward repeat prescriptions? Especially for older people, who are to be cocooned. And given GPs are so busy on COVID19 triage & test referral?

Reality has temporarily shifted, and everyone gets to choose how to react. Emergency services personnel, however, do not have that choice; their actions are informed by your choices. On behalf of the entire emergency services family, we're asking you to think before you choose.

Heartbreaking. Devastating. This is the reality in another EU Member State. We send our solidarity and our prayers to all in Italy. This is a global pandemic. And yes we are asking people to change the way they live here in Ireland but we do so to save lives #coronavirus #covid19

Do you want to save lives? Do you want to support our frontline health staff? Do you want to keep your family safe? Do you want to get our country through the next few weeks and months? Then do this! Keep your distance. Stay away #coronavirus #Covid19

"If the HSE called you and told you that you tested positive for COVID-19 and had to list all the places you had been and all the people you had been in contact with for the last 14 days. Would you be proud of yourself or embarrassed? No need to comment, just think about it."

In my 40 years working as a journalist, I never recall news moving faster than it can be typed. I’m also proud of my colleagues, in RTÉ & the wider profession, for their work at this unprecedented time of crisis. The public has never needed to be more informed with key facts.

You should be getting one of these leaflets through your letterbox in the next few days. It’s a public info booklet about #Covid19 with simple info on symptoms & self isolation. It’s been produced by the Govt & the HSE Ireland and is being delivered free of charge by An Post.

Perhaps anyone thinking of having a small social gathering or making that non essential journey this weekend could hold on a little longer. The curve is flattening but we aren’t there yet. All these guys would really appreciate it! irishtimes.com/news/ireland/i…
