well luckily it was only a pebble, so it didn't hurt too much, just caught him by surprise. "can I help you?" okay, that sounded more sarcastic than he'd meant it to.

he'll continue laying there, looking up at her when she comes into view. "yeah. just having a crisis, it's fine."

his expression looks somewhat surprised, the realisation hitting him as he shuffled about to sit on his knees. "wait - no, I didn't mean it like that I just -" there's a sigh. perhaps it best to start again. "I'm tommy. it's good to meet you, jess."

well, at least he isn't the only awkward one here, it'd seem. that makes him feel a little better about his rather brash first words to the stranger. "not long. I mean, I don't think it's been long." there's a long pause. "what day is it?"

tommy shifted to cross his legs, gripping his ankles as he stared up at the sky again. "well, I've not been here long I don't think. feels like it, but... probably because I've had nothing to actually DO here."

"eh, it's not much different from home." he hummed, gripping his hands together over his abdomen. his head lulled to the side a little, the blonde peering up at her. "how long you been here?"

"not yet." he shoves his hands into his pockets, pulling his jacket closed around his torso. "heard everyone talking about them, though. they don't sound very... fun."
