The execution of Ernest Johnson is unconstitutional under all existing legal precedents. He has the mental capacity of a 9-year-old child and is missing 20% of his brain mass. The Supreme Court’s failure to do anything to stop this is a moral failing of the highest order.

Just calculated the maximum sentence on a case I just received as 129 years to life. What even is the point? No one died. No guns involved either. This reform let everyone out rhetoric is simply talk.

I am a voter, tax payer, defender. to me, #EyvinHernandez is worthy: a loyal friend, voice of the voiceless, contributor to society. If he isn’t deserving of our government’s help then are any of us? #bringeyvinhome President Donald J. “I see a lot of short little dark people” “Puro Oaxacan and Korean” “I don’t know which village they came from where they got here.” Wow, so much anti-black and anti-indigenous insults from these LA officials. They all need to resign. The Latinx community needs to do better.

What is it like doing indigent defense? Today I looked at the court list to appoint a neuropathologist on a special circumstance homicide. Turns out he's been dead since 2012. Theatre of the Absurd. No one cares if the poor have ancillary services.

I introduced a resolution advocating for the release of my constituent, Eyvin Hernandez, who was wrongfully detained in Venezuela last March. The Administration must use all possible tools to secure his freedom. I will always fight to #BringEyvinHome. tinyurl.com/mhztw6ew

LA District Attorney refuses to look at CDCR stats. They rely on personal anecdotes for their no determinate sentences for youthful offenders on most life cases. How is this reform? Stop wasting my time with meetings. Guess I will try every single case... at taxpayer expense.
