Why do these great books not have decent e-book versions in popular online stores? All my other game design books are digital, and they are just so CONVENIENT! #gamedevelopment

Dark patterns in game design are real, and it is great to see that authorities take them seriously. The real deal is in mobile gaming, though. The rabbit hole goes too deep and too far than PC gaming there, especially among young people.

Or, you can buy a "special" game for the same amount from an independent developer who actually cares about you as a gamer instead of trying to rip you off. It's your call. The tips wouldn't go to the actual developers anyway.

A wild first PR has appeared! šŸ‘€ It addresses some screen space reflection issues in orthogonal camera and already been merged! First of many, I hope. #GodotEngine github.com/godotengine/go…

I am willing to pay for good technically solid games with great replayability and no micro-transactions. Forcing games to be free lead to this mess in the first place. Game having to be "free" should not be on top of the list if you want quality and no bullshit.

This is a proud moment for me, too. Version 4.3 is the first release that I contributed to. It's so satisfying to put even a little bit of work on the software you use daily. FOSS is awesome.

i don't really know how to articulate this but gamedev programmers are on an entire other level to non-games programmers repeatedly needing to solve problems that have never existed before, because the world you're creating them in has never existed changes you as a person

It's a shame that you can't even make your game in peace anymore without getting caught up in excessively polarized first-world politics. Poor devs. #godot #godotengine

This is bonkers! We thought we were making a game for only a few people, but that they'd be really excited about it. Turns out, many people got excited! Thank you sooo much for 300.000 wishlists! This gives us a lot of confidence and allows us to do a bit more with PVKK🄳

Most of the people freaking out about this are probably unfamiliar with this weird idea that there are programming paradigms other than OOP, which might be better suited for gameplay code.

Just finished #Cairn. Reminds me of what indie games used to be. A moving experience that catches you off guard with unexpected deep moments. Combined with a unique well-executed gameplay. IDK about game awards, but it's definitely my personal GOTY.

Wonder what they'd do if the Canadian government ever decides to introduce similar laws. At this point, these laws feel like a global conspiracy regardless of the government's political leaning.

For a group of users yes but I can’t say they are back until they deliver competitive iGPU power. Mac’s are killing it and AMD with Strix Halo is still way beyond what Panther Lake offers.
