It’s my Birthday Eve, not Birthday Steve…

I guess it’s a different time. My only child but 20YO is getting her wisdom teeth out and we have jello, smoothie mix, watermelon, pineapple, and other soft foods available for her. I’m taking an hour off of work today and maybe home with her tomorrow. /1

In the 80’s, I was going to bike to my appointment but I was told that’s not the best option. My mom was working so my aunt picked me up from the dental office- I had bussed there so as not to inconvenience my aunt too much. /2

I worked at the airport and went to work that same afternoon with gauze in my mouth and still tasting blood. My girl has ice packs at the ready and 5 books to read for the next week. /3
