Recall: Matthew Knoweles had everyone shelved to create Beyoncé. Ashanti, Maya, Amerie, etc had no chance of continuing. Similar to the making of Whitney Houston....

Today was a good day in the @MA_Senate for advancing racial justice. We opened budget debate w/a long-sought increase for METCO (school desegregation),& ended the day w/the Justice Reinvestment amendment, to redirect $$ from jails to job creation for over-incarcerated communities

Over the past year, the Blair Lot, a vacant parcel in Nubian Square has been the site of community gatherings including outdoor festivals, galleries and marketplaces. But change may be coming to the square. via @Blackley_Taylor: wgbh.org/news/local-new…

Wow, so Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was one of the bullies trying to stop his Black classmates from desegregating Central High in Little Rock in 1957. washingtonpost.com/sports/interac…

I’m not trying to hear any criticism on the way Angela Bassett reacted to not winning. Especially from white people. Please go to hell! She had every right to feel how she felt in that moment. Critiquing someone for being human is insane. It shouldn’t even be a discussion.

My favorite part of the Caitlyn Clark/Angel Reese discourse is that the gesture we're all talking about was popularized by a white dude but jacked from a Black man. It's a racial double standard and an cultural appropriation 2-for-1. Fun times.

Music of my childhood can remind me how I grew up impoverished and how I was sad a lot about being poor. Studies have shown there is a relationship between poverty and depression. I didn't know that as a kid. I just knew I didn't want to be poor and live in substandard housing.
