#OpenNSFAS OFFICIAL STATEMENT There are a lot of students from Rural Areas who have never heard about NSFAS due to marginalization. They too deserve a chance at university. NSFAS never went out to market itself. Open NSFAS while it’s still nice. Stop violence against the poor.

I cannot help but wonder if the crisis response fund established in RSA will not be looted like the arms deal or Mandela memorial funds. Let's hope there will not be a commission of enquiry when the #COVID19 crisis dies down. Generally govt made a right call. #shutdownsouthafrica

kagisho nkadimeng (@kagishon) 's Twitter Profile Photo

However, #cyrilramaphosa and his economic consessions seem to forget the informal sector who will be the people affected the most when people stay away. Though this is not a surprise given govt's inability to formally work with or support the informal sector. #COVID19SouthAfrica

RSA has recorded the first two deaths of the COVID19 virus in the Western Cape. The number of confirmed cases has surpassed the 1000 mark as this is the first day of the 21 day #LockdownSA people should take more precautions, particularly with moving around. #COVID19SouthAfrica

They say a crisis has the potential to bring about the best or worst of us. #cyrilramaphosa and the #ANC seem to be defying the odds thus far. This is the kind of proactive government and political will required.

As a state such stimulus packages should have halved unemployment, inequality and poverty had they been done under normal circumstances. Now the challenge is on to see the administrave capacity of the state and thus governing party #cyrilramaphosa

Just saw a police officer smoking. My thinking is where does a police offier get #cigarettes if they are not allowed to be sold. Saying they have their stash is not plausible. People dont keep a 2 months worth if cigarette stash.

Dead man tell no tales...#SANDF and militaries generally do not account to civilians even in a democracy. For they are undemocratic. Arguing security reasons. #SANDF will pull a PR stunt yet persue internal processes in the #JusticeforCollinsKhosa matter.

Lenin reminds us that there are decades where nothing happens and there are weeks where decades happen. Currently, decades happened. Be it churches, liquor and or education. Which ever way the pendulum swings, humanity must come out winners.

The #concourt judgetment is a neccesaary blow 2 the #electoralact yet a consolidation of democracy. Political parties wil learn to be more accountable. But it shouldn't let authoritarian creep into politics as humans r complex. 1 candidate can b as harmful as a group of people.

kagisho nkadimeng (@kagishon) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The last time a top 6 #ANC official had corruption issues, it ended up with 'political interference' and they ascended to the presidency. The then incumbent got recalled after Polokwane conference. History repeats itself, first as a tragedy, second as a farce.#AceMagashule

kagisho nkadimeng (@kagishon) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Unfortunately politics of spectacle takes precedence over real bread and butter issues in SA. The political elite have captured the imagination of poor South Africans as personality cults are celebrated for breathing and not actually delivering basic public goods. #AceMagashule

SA foreign policy of Ubuntu and history of non alignment makes it almost impossible to take a policy stance on geopolitics such as #Ukraine and #Russia impasse. So no #SANDF or sanctions will happen. Besides, wars have no victors. Only the dead have seen an end to war.

kagisho nkadimeng (@kagishon) 's Twitter Profile Photo

#RSA has no power 2 sanction #Russia. Sanctions work on power balances, ever heard Zim sanctioning Britain? Gov knows n wont be found wanting on either side. These r diplomatic formalities 2 b on the right side of history. Mandela opined against Iraq invasion yet nothing happened

The state has a monopoly of violence n thats fine, however this collaboration with armed citizen vigilante groups masquerading as 'keeping communities safe' n prvt security is 🚩, as if Phoenix wasnt enough, all 4 unarmed protestors #NationalShutdown

There needs 2 be a commission of inquiry into #BafanaBafana performance over the last decade and a half. Alternatively #Fifa ought 2 allow countries to abstain 4rm playing till they feel they're ready. At this point the boys are akin 2 #Anc looting n plundering the country.
