A nice timeline cleanse.

12-hour timelapse of American Airlines, Delta, and United plane traffic after what was likely the biggest IT outage in history forced a nationwide ground stop of the three airlines.

Some flights have been resumed but expect delays and cancellations. This will likely whiplash throughout the weekend. Please be patient with airline staff and customer service as they try to help. cbsnews.com/news/microsoft…

It looks like flights on United and American are slowly coming back online with many Delta flights still canceled. Check your flight before you leave for the airport and still expect delays regardless of the airline.

Most consumer services from banking to shopping are back up and running. The one exception is Starbucks whose app is still down but but appears to be taking orders in-store without incident.

Are you better off than you were four years ago? For the 60% of Americans with a 401k, the answer is almost certainly "yes!" Since 10/30/2020, the DJIA is up 59% and the SP500 is up 78% (!!!).

Totally anecdotal but there was less traffic this morning on my bike commute through the congestion relief zone. Some minor flurries but nothing that would realistically change traffic patterns.

That NYC temperature drop was one of the wildest weather events I’ve ever experienced. Probably a 30 degree drop in 30 seconds.
