So... #Cambridge #Folk folks... Who's for an informal #CambridgeFolk Festival, held at Cherry Hinton Hall? Just turn up with instruments or your voice, or just yourself. and play or listen or join in? Same weekend as the Cambridge Folk Festival would have been?

Today's Randall Munroe cartoon missed some important firsts in aviation! In China & Japan, mid C6th, kites lifted aerial observers, & in 559 CE, Yuan Huangtou flew ~3km under a kite. In the mid-1700s, Sir George Cayley designed & had made several gliders flown by human pilots.

Hey, Amazon.co.uk - why does Ben Aaronovitch's "The Masquerades of Spring" cost more on Kindle than HARDBACK? No materials or print costs. No warehousing or physical distribution. Just royalties, art, layout & near-negligible push to device, but 17% costlier. Please explain.

Who else is annoyed to heck by interminable multi-minute nag-verts by the likes of Ryobi Tools UK and Kärcher UK ? I stopped buying both their products when they started doing this. If you can't sell it in 30s, you have a crap product or crap marketers.

Going to say this now: if Amazon MGM Studios picks an American #JamesBond, I'm out, permanently. (Having seen every Bond film since I was old enough to go.) I imagine I won't be alone.

The embittered hacks who crayoned the The Mirror's quite unjustified hatchet piece on The 1975's Glastonbury Festival headliner need to reevaluate their careers as entertainment journos. The band's not particularly my genre, but the gig was fun and well done. Agenda, much?

Hey, FRAMOS - the Contact form on your website seems broken. I'm trying to send your Tech Support people an urgent message, but get the error below, using Bing or Opera. Do you have a contact email, ideally one direct to Technical Support? My DMs are open! Thanks.

Hey NXP - login on your website seems broken. After entering the email address on the first page, I just get an indefinite pulsing grey-brown panel on what should be the password page. Opera, MS Edge: the same. This is blocking me getting vital product info for my client!

𝗦𝗣𝗨𝗗 𝗝𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗦 𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨! Seriously, Tesco, is this pathetic excuse for a dob of mash really all we're supposed to get, or was this an error?

Deeply regretting visiting Currys earlier this week. If I'd heard their adverts with the horrible, butchered version of "O Fortuna" beforehand, spammed into every TV ad break, I'd have spent my £140 elsewhere. Not kidding.

Hey BBC News (UK) BBC Sport—it was an arsehole move, spoilering the Formula 1 result with a "Breaking news" push notification. Was it unreasonable to want it to be a surprise until there was a chance to watch highlights? I was deliberately avoiding the News app & broadcast.

Friends! If you usually get a Xmas card from us, please PM me your postal address! We had a bit of a disaster & mislaid the family address book. We've been looking for weeks, & have now given up hope of finding it in time. Thanks! It'll help us build a new address book.

Hey, Microsoft? Remember when every 1080p screen attached to your computer was the same physical size? It's 2026. People connect larger screens to laptops. Apple and Linux have coped with different monitor sizes at the same resolution for decades (1987; 2002). Fix Windows!

Hey, Moss Bros. — when someone's just spent £400 with you on a nice half-canvas suit, charging £8 (2% of value) for a suit carrier comes across as petty penny-pinching, unworthy of the Customer Service of an old-school gentleman's outfitters. Doesn't inspire repeat business.
