Junior doctors, let's make sure full pay restoration stays front and centre during this election. We strike again with a 5 day full walkout from 7am on 27 June to 7am on 2 July. Let's make this round of action our biggest and loudest yet! #DoctorsStrike bma.org.uk/bma-media-cent…

Our colleagues at The RCN are still in dispute too but the Government always forgets them. If you don't fight, they cut your pay, impose contracts, and renege on agreements. We have 14 years of proof.

Shout out to the NHS for finding innovative ways to reduce the money spent on doctors’ study budgets during these difficult economic times 👏

We've not asked for pay restoration in one go and it's misleading to say the cost of pay restoration would be £3bn – that assumes Junior Doctors pay no tax. In reality the cost to Government would be £1.3bn, less than half of the cost to the NHS of the strikes to date.

There is nothing 'junior' about junior doctors. This afternoon #ARM2024 recognises this and has voted through proposals to rename to “RESIDENT DOCTORS” from September 2024. More details to follow... #RDC coming soon!

Delighted that The BMA's strike fund has been directly boosted by a 1% levy on subs rates: a tangible expression of solidarity and very necessary as doctor strikes continue around the UK. I first suggested this last year and am pleased to see it passed by a huge majority now.

This is a terrible political decision, which will cause incredible harm to trans people. Prescribing decisions should be for clinicians with patients (and families), not politicians. The ban should be reversed. 🧵

IMO, the result of the deal vote is actually less important than our cohesion afterwards. Whatever the result, the losing side needs to get on board with the resulting strategy, get involved in the union and continue to fight for FPR The future of the profession is at stake

Seeing images coming out of Al Aqsa hospital this morning are horrifying. Videos seem to show patients attached to IV lines, burning alive. Isreal is committing genocide in gaza.
