Great quality research and exciting work being presented at the #BIRD2021 conference today. Honoured to be a part of this with a poster presenting our conceptual model on the relationship between death anxiety and disordered eating. Would love to hear your thoughts on it πŸ€—πŸ’¬

We enjoyed attending #BIRD2021 & were honoured to present some of our work there. Hu et al investigated the impacts of Chinese Tiktok trends and challenges on body image of Chinese users πŸ‘€πŸ‘‡ We are excited to continue this research into body image among non-Western populations.

Another poster presented at the fantastic #BIRD2021 conference. Simone Girardin presented our conceptual model on the relationship between appearance comparisons and disordered eating. Would love to hear your thoughts on this or any of our other work!

The first study from my PhD on the topic of eating disorder severity ratings was recently published in Clinical Psychology: Science and Practice πŸ₯³πŸ€“ Available online at doi.apa.org/doiLanding?doi…

Just published πŸ“„πŸ‘‡ A meta-analytic review by Nicole Rickerby, supervised by Isabel Krug & Litza Kiropoulos has found that rumination is a transdiagnostic factor found across MDD, GAD, SAD & Eating Disorders. Find it here: psycnet.apa.org/record/2022-95…

And another one! πŸ‘πŸ“„ A meta-analytic review by Ellentika Chayadi, supervised by Litza Kiropoulos has found that mindfulness based interventions reduced symptoms of depression, anxiety and cancer related fatigue in oncology populations. Check it out here: doi.org/10.1371/journa…

While #mindfulness may be overhyped, it benefits #cancer sufferers and survivors: mindfulness-based interventions reduce anxiety and depressive symptoms and cancer-related fatigue in cancer patients and survivors. Link to meta-analysis, I was fortunate to contribute to, below:

Important, comforting and sobering keynote by @CMurrupStewart at the AACBT on myths and misconceptions around First Nations health & wellbeing. Ongoing injustices continue. Sovereignty was never ceded. Time to decolonise psychology practice now!! #AACBT2022

Fascinating talk by Anastasia Pourliakas on psychosocial correlates of death anxiety in oncology, multiple sclerosis & ED populations. Few studies on self esteem & DA. Great to see more research in death anxiety at #AACBT22, and excited to see the final results of this meta analysis!
