It’s all there in Britannia Unchained, co-authored by Liz Truss and Kwarteng: the pound can collapse, borrowing and mortgages can soar, pensioners can freeze, kids can go hungry, as long as the economy is ripe for venture capitalists freed from regulation and, ideally, tax.

It’s everyone else’s fault folks. Nothing to do with Brexit.

Ranting about an imaginary ‘anti growth coalition’ is just an attempt to obscure the hard reality that the biggest brake on UK growth is Brexit - and that’s on the Tories.

A party that puts up trade barriers with its biggest market and stops its own citizens from being able to work with and sell freely to 450m consumers is anti-growth.
