I am really impressed by the two year restoration of the 553 year old Provand's Lordship, Glasgow's oldest house, led by Scott Abercrombie of JohnGilbertArchitect. The new lime harling might have surprised people, but it was how it would have originally appeared before the 19th century

Amidst all the grim news last week, there was one bright moment. I used Thursday, the week's only dry day, to pay a visit to the recently refurbished Provand's Lordship, which has just reopened after a £1.6m upgrade, and it's looking braw.
