there is a scam going around where someone says they are interested in hiring you, but insist on using "brave talk" / "wechat" / etc. to do a call. when you click to join the call, it says you have to download an installer which is actually malware.

Two people in Pakistan *stole* Abigale Kim (@abigalekim.bsky.social)'s MS thesis, put their names on it, and posted it on Zenodo: zenodo.org/records/131331… We don't know nor have worked with them. They forgot to replace "thesis" with "paper" but at least they left us as co-authors...

tried getting claude to write funny tweets starting from 9 examples. it generated some okay stuff but nothing that actually made me laugh. then i tried asking it to generate tweets written from its perspective rather than a human's and actually laughed. hmm

asked claude to use a more authentic voice, then asked it to reflect on the nature of humor and what kind of humor would be more authentic to it. not bad, a couple of these made me laugh out loud. that last one though lmao

A few thoughts on AI and education, from someone who uses AI and also teaches many levels of student. 1. Most importantly, it's not possible to know what will happen because no one knows what skills AI will or will not replace in the next few years.
