I often wonder how many things are passed from paramedic to paramedic through mentorship that aren’t based on any real evidence. Classic eg is 4x 2.5mg morphine (in adv adult) Or no taking BP on arm that has had breast CA lymph node removal

British Paramedicine is 53 yrs old today. This is Prof Douglas Chamberlain who created the role of Paramedic in the UK. 6 Ambulance Men from Brighton were chosen to undergo cardiac & emergency training, they began treating patients on 4 March 1971. The Paramedic was born. 💚

. St John Ambulance England saved my life yesterday. I collapsed unconscious just over a mile from the TCS London Marathon finish line with a temp of 42. The medics were just incredible. Absolute heroes who I can’t thank enough 🙏🏻❤️
