Your work does not define your worth. A career is what you do—it doesn’t have to reflect who you are. Making a job part of your identity is an option, not an obligation. Your impact in the world doesn’t depend on how you make a living. It derives from how you live your values.

New data: Long hours (≥60 per week) & extended shifts (≥24 hours) pose a danger to patient safety & to residents. The combination has a synergistic effect, amplifying medical errors, car crashes, and needle sticks. It’s time to rethink the way we’ve always done things.

Yesterday was my husband’s last day of surgical intern year. In one week, he starts radiology residency, and we close on our first home. We also just bought our first fridge/washer/dryer for our new home! Feeling so blessed and excited for the future! #MedTwitter

Now that I’ve moved to a new city, I have established all of my care (migraine, narcolepsy, women’s health etc.) with all nurse practitioners for the first time. It has been the BEST care I’ve ever received and makes me feel so proud of my profession! #nursingstrong

NEW: Phoenix Sepsis Score for pediatric sepsis. Includes more that 3.6 million health encounters - the largest we have at this time! Love that they incorporated multiple other sepsis criteria such as pSOFA, PELOD-2, and DIC. #SCCM2024 #PedsICU

Great year review of pediatric data science! Definitely inspires me as I work on my own research utilizing machine learning algorithms to provide predictive rates of mortality in VAD placement for single ventricle physiology! #SCCM2024

This is a major reason why I care so much about research and publishing. Women have less representation in research yet research leads to so many other opportunities. We need to close to gap between men and women in critical care. #SCCM2024

Having 0% of women as president of critical care organizations is deemed as discrimination in the United States. How is Europe, Japan, Mexico and El Salvador zero? Excited to be in the room with the future first woman president of Mexico! #SCCM2024 #WomenInCriticalCare

Why do you think millennial intensivists are the most quiet about harassment? We need to have more discussions about this and how to fix this issue. #SCCM2024 #WomenInCriticalCare

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.

MAGA was so intent on making sure that 15 trans people couldn't play sports that they voted for poverty, chronic disease, rampant corruption and WW3.
