So thankful to be their teacher. I made these bookmarks for my students to use when they read their books at home this week. It will be a sweet reminder to appreciate all the great qualities our class family possesses. ❤️

Holiday wishes! Our cards may look a little different this year, but we can still spread our holiday cheer! “Covid style” cards were taken individually with the letters and then put together to make the words.

It snowed in our Florida classroom! ❄️ I love creating engaging learning experiences that are memorable! The last couple of days were filled with snow, hot cocoa, text structure writing, Tune Tuesday, making s’mores, and snowballs! #setthestage

I wanted my students to add powerful and descriptive vocabulary to their writing, so I gave them a writing bracelet! It’s basically a word bank, but also an accessory! My students helped me compile the list of words they thought we should use. They loved their bracelets!

Vocabulary collaborative structures! Students rotated through each board reading everything that was already listed and then added to the previous groups’ thinking. This quick review got them thinking and held everyone accountable.

If you know me, simple, but effective, is my favorite! Instant motivation and engagement! Taught a new concept today, first time I circulated 8 students got it right, our goal was to beat 8. The next time we got 17!! They were so excited and motivated to learn the new material!

FOUR CORNERS-character analysis! After reading, students brainstormed character traits. I selected four & put them in the corners. Ss went to the trait corner that was best demonstrated by the main character and then had to find text evidence. A powerful collaborative structure!

I LOVE this SUPER easy way to boost engagement! Separate ss into teams (different colored balls). If the problem is correct, they put the ball in the basket. The exciting part is that each basket holds a SECRET point value (hidden under basket). Reveal at the end of the lesson!
