This "who pays the tariff" debate is getting goofy. Trade benefits all who are involved. Taxing it harms both exporting and importing countries.

A remarkable look into how the "quality" British press gets made: A The Telegraph reporter just lifts an anecdote from that day's The New York Times β€” but he doesn't actually understand it, so he writes that an acting teacher who died in 1982 is somehow doing debate prep for Harris.

The Penn-Wharton Budget Model projects that Harris' policies would increase deficits by about $2 trillion while Trump's would add $4 trillion, over the 10-year budget window (on a dynamic basis) But keep in mind these are on top of the already projected $22 trillion deficits

Here is from the first edition (page 148) of the same textbook by Stevenson and Wolfers. Once again, it seems pretty clear that it is reasonable to call anti-price gouging laws a price control (ceiling)

When you're fixated on the same stories as the weirdest people in politics and media you end up pushing a lot of BS... "Springfield police say no reports of pets stolen, after viral social media post" springfieldnewssun.com/news/springfie…

1. Groceries are not 3x as expensive as they were 5 years ago 2. The fact so many people believe these absurd inflation claims is strong evidence that many people have no idea what they’re paying for things, and are substituting media narratives for firsthand experience

I’ve stated before that we have entered a new Know Nothing era in American politics but the fact that we are having US politicians gleefully boosting a fake story about Haitian immigrants killing & eating pets harkens back to some of the worst times in our history

Brad Shapiro And it's clearly opioids that are driving the increase. Here are those deaths classified by mechanism -- poisonings include drug ODs. Firearm and vehicle deaths are down, but that's swamped by the rise in ODs.
