It is time to let walk in clinic docs, family docs and specialists do virtual care. ER virtual care is not a substitute nor does it accomplish much. We need ER docs to do what they do best. There is no substitute for their skill. They need to look after sick patients in person

More Canadians have mental illness. Why? 1. #COVID_19 2. Trouble paying bills/buying food/keeping a job Family docs manage >60% of mental illness. I see this every day in my clinic. There is hope. #ONpoli can help by funding what works: SCOPE, PsychChat, family health teams.

We need digital ordering to a central repository that patients can direct to a lab of choice. Results delivered directly to ordering professional automatically through same system. Karim Keshavjee

I am disgusted and not a shred surprised. We have lost our way. Mr. Meunier stuck on an ER stretcher for 4 days with consequent bone and muscle exposed said "I don't want to be a burden". He was granted death through medical assistance in dying. cbc.ca/news/canada/mo…

A better goal would be to make data centrally available with patient-controlled privacy. It’s not practical to delegate data collation to patients. ‘Easy’ should be the plan.

Numbers don’t lie. This is why you cant find a family doctor. & why practices are closing. No business can survive losing 20% income in 4yrs. Prices of everything have gone up. But physicians are trapped between a provincial gov not funding & a fed gov reaching into pockets.

AI to reduce paperwork for family physicians 🤣🤣🤣 I think my favourite part will be when the AI generated paperwork will be faxed to another clinician...the pinnacle of technological advances. Anyone who thinks I'm joking? I'm not. This will happen. toronto.ctvnews.ca/ontario-launch….

So the idea is to drill a bigger hole in the health care supply bucket and hope it's possible to pour in new supply faster than the larger leak government created-- to create a 'fair Canada'-- where no one gets health care... equally. Dumb strategy.

MOH has to tread carefully with Ontario physicians. Clearly refusing to bargain in good faith despite an ongoing shortage and crisis. You can’t suppress wages and funding forever. Eventually the profession throws the towel in closed shop and goes elsewhere.

The Ontario Ministry of Health & Ontario Medical Association will be forced to go to arbitration due to widely different positions. Of note the MOH proposes a solution that physicians should find a way to increase revenue to get around poor remuneration. That means cut the 10 min visits to 5 min.
