I can attest to this. I live in Jaffa, a mixed city of Jews and Arabs. The kindness and solidarity right now is unlike anything Israeli society has ever experienced. If any good is to come out of these horrors it's that Arab and Jewish Israelis will finally come together as one.

When I was a young advocate, this sort of evidence from witnesses (usually not quite as dopey as they claimed they were) was sometimes tagged 'non mi ricordo' in homage to the trial of Queen Caroline in 1820 where this was one witness's answer over 200 times. Nothing changes!

At Airdrie Sheriff Court today, Sheriff Scott Pattison sentenced each of the accused, Sarah McDermott, Margaret Hughes and Eileen Igoe to 3 years in prison. All three had been found guilty of historic charges of child cruelty whilst in a position of trust bit.ly/3U5N7Y6
