It’s been a ride

I was laid off from Twitter this afternoon. I was in charge of managing badge access to Twitter offices. Elon just called me and asked if I could come back to help them regain access to HQ as they shut off all badges and accidentally locked themselves out.

I'm not a student of corporate stewardship but I wouldn't be surprised to learn this is the most catastrophic corporate takeover of all time.

Oh and… Twitter employees, good on you for telling Musk to fuck off. We’ll survive. The very best of luck to you.

I wanna say this before everything burns down, we built something special. Everyone I know who worked @Twitter cared so much about the users of this platform, about using it to make the world better, and it wasn’t perfect but we tried our fucking hardest and it was good.

May you love something as much as Elon Musk loves joking about firing thousands of people at the holidays.

it was nice knowing y’all. 2007-2022, wow. births, deaths, everything in between: met the wife here, made friends, met amazing people, had multiple career/life 180s and still found community. i will miss everyone! i don’t love mastodon so i’ll just be floating around lurking. ❤️

all the why Elon Musk bought Twitter theories are overthinking it. it’s simple. Musk is in a right wing filter bubble. he bought Twitter believing their problems were real & that others felt the same this is what happens when you have a lot of money & live in fantasy land

Elon Musk just got booed like I’ve never heard before on stage with @davechapelle and Chris Rock. He couldn’t get a word in, the crowd booed for 10 minutes. Not favored on his home turf. He looked stunned, must not get enough feedback IRL.
