While going through some old files today, I found this photo of the CGSC Department of Military History back in the day (c. 2010). This was a great group that touched a lot of officers' lives as they cycled through the AO.

Back in Aggieland with Adam Seipp and Brian Linn to celebrate Brian's recent retirement with breakfast tacos at Fuego's. Forgot to take a photo but this one from last time will suffice (sorry, Adam!). Congratulations and safe travels to this stellar scholar and great friend.

I paid a visit yesterday to the National Mounted Warrior Museum at Fort Cavazos (nee Hood). ‘Well worth a stop for anyone who might be in the AO.

Honored to announce that the 3-volume "History of the Vietnam War" by Cambridge, the most prestigious academic press in the world, has published. My chapter in Vol. 3 is on the end of the war. The series has taken years to complete. Thanks to Cambridge and the editors.

I spent three days last week at CGSC talking about the Vietnam War with Dr Matt Broaddus’ Art of War Scholars. It is an outstanding group of Army, AF, Marine, and International Officers (UK and Australia).

On 9 July 1972, 53 years ago, BG Richard J. Tallman, LTC Stanley Kuick, MAJ Peter Bentson, 1LT John Todd, and SFC Son, a Vietnamese interpreter, were killed by incoming NVA artillery in An Loc, Binh Long Province. BG Tallman was the last U.S. general officer to die in Vietnam.

On this date in 1973, the Paris Peace Accords were signed, calling for a ceasefire to begin at 0800, 28 January Saigon time. LTC William B. Nolde was killed by NVA artillery at 9:05 PM just 11 hours before the ceasefire went effect. Never forgotten.
