On the other hand, the reason why isekai MCs always have shitty lives before getting isekai'd, is to justify their their happiness to abandon real life and welcome the power fantasy. The mfs will happily defeat the demon king but not become better people irl.

All the kid's movie propaganda about poor kids switching places with royalty and learning that "they have it hard too" really worked huh

Most 3D fighting games are just as 2D as 2D fighting games. They add the Z-axis and then pretty much remove the Y-axis, so you're still only playing in 2 dimensions, just X and Z instead of X and Y.

This is a mad petty complaint lol. I don't even like the show, but everyone would be fawning if they retconned the reload thing for a tacticool reload scene if it was in one of the games like Nero has.

"Anime" doesn't just mean it has to be made in Japan because of the simple fact that a show can feel more or less "anime-like" regardless of where it's made. If we can agree that Avatar is "more" of an anime than The Simpsons, then "anime-ness" exists separately from country.

I feel like people hailing Eva as a "subversion" of Mecha did a lot of damage to the genre. It makes people who watch it assume that it is the exception for having any complexity, instead of exploring more of the genre.
