I am super excited about getting to work with the faculty at Valley View Elementary. They truly have a heart for helping children and they have inspired me to grow as an educator.

I came into school this morning to see the completion of this beautiful mural. It was a part of our Read for the Record. 5th grade students painted parts of the mural and read the story “Maybe Something Beautiful.” Shout out to Stephanie Jones who organized this great project.

We had our Family Literacy Night & an Irish Drum presentation funded by Allied Arts at VV last night. Academics with Arts is the well rounded education we all need. It just dawned on me, that officially one year ago today, I started my journey as an elementary principal. I have grown in leaps and bounds by working with my Valley View Community family. Thank you for a great first year and I am so excited for what year two will bring. Go Cubs!

We just completed our first nine weeks of school in the middle of a pandemic. I feel blessed to be a part of the faculty & staff of Valley View that accepted this challenge and rose to the occasion. Their hard work & sacrifice brought much needed support to our students. Go Cubs!
