The FT general election model is live! It’s got a fairly clever trick: using the local swings picked up in the 2019-2023 British Election Study data to work out local volatility, so swings aren’t uniform. (1/2)

They've pledged to merge the Infrastructure Projects Authority and the National Infrastructure Commission.

Interestingly I don’t think this is the case now. Modelling here at Focaldata suggests more modest Labour lead of 5-7% is enough for a majority. Now apparently called the “Election cat” James O'Malley

One train every 100 seconds 😍

Reminds me I must bring a copy of War and Peace to get through while waiting for trains in NYC and DC next week

NEW: These are the battlegrounds that could decide a US-China war over Taiwan.

Working with Kathrin Hille and Demetri, our latest visual story explores five military contests that would help define the outcome of a conflict.
