Not many people can say they were able to watch Crop-Tech Consulting’s first Virtural Corn & Soybean College in person! #cornsoybeancollege #SinsofSpring

The dry August has really put the stress on some soil types. Variable rate population plots are looking promising! In the stressed area, 5 ears from 25K has more grain than 6 ears at 30K.

Opening week of plots is a lot like opening day of baseball. A lot of lineup changes, some scratches and always a lot of excitement and anticipation for the coming season.

For over a decade Ken's been asking for someone to design a planter that places the seed so it germinates "spike up". MK1 Engineering did just that and brought the planter by this morning for us to test. Looking forward to evaluating this trial as the year progresses. #AeroTube

Is your corn crop closing out the season with a “photo finish” (green top & ripe husk)? Or is top kill taking out the top end of your yield? Ken Ferrie touches on that in this #AgronomicMinute

Took out a fungicide plot in a heavy tar spot pressure field in NEIA this past weekend. To say the least, the visual and yield differences were stunning. Look forward to hand-shelling some ears of both treatments to compare the flex of kernel depth for this hybrid. Crop-Tech Consulting

In this week’s #BIFR Ken talks with Bergie about the stats from this year’s hybrid flex plots. Ken also answers a question about how soil test values can be helpful in hybrid selection and placement. podomatic.com/podcasts/cropt…
