Today, students are protesting the board of trustees meeting, held at the Madam CJ Walker Theater. Not only cops, but a dean tried to intimidate them, foolishly claiming that the IU expressive activity policy applied to Indianapolis sidewalks.

The final item of the Indiana University BOT agenda includes an approval request for Whitten’s salary.  The board awarded Whitten a $162,500 bonus in 2023, a 25% increase of her $650,000 base salary. Her contract runs through June 2026.

The IU Board of Trustees will discuss President Whitten’s performance & compensation today. Whitten earns $702,000 a year, and her bonus could be +$175,000. The bonus would come after many no-confidence votes & arrests of 57 protesters last spring. Story coming WFIU/WTIU News
